MY EXPERIENCES WITH GENERAL CELLULAR AND NEURAL CELLULAR PATHOLOGY IN A CASE BASED BLENDED LEARNING ECOSYSTEM'S CBBLE

"THE UNIVERSE BURIES STRANGE JEWELS DEEP WITHIN US ALL AND THEN STANDS BACK TO SEE IF WE CAN FIND THEM" - ELIZABETH GILBERT

And we all know that single human cell is a tiny universe and we are stuffed with trillions of 'tiny universe' .

I guess Being a human it's beyond the  capacity of our grey cells to quantify the abundancy of knowledge a human body can bear!

So with strong will and determination  to find out the deep buried jewel , i dove into the ocean to learn the adventures of a human body.

so it was 03rd of july 2021 a naive 3rd semester medical student with just bit of anatomy and physiology knowledge begun the dive with my first case.

It was time when entire country was coerced to get confined within four walls of their house cause of covid but walls of hospital was still screaming aloud by the chaos of patients.

I interacted with attendant of one such patient through my mentor and she was 60years old female presented with complains of fever and abdominal pain for last 6 days. she was not having any upper respiratory tract infection or sob and even her covid report got to be negative.

on doing usg we found multiple abscess in liver which may be of infective cause and initially she was started on antibiotics.

her esr was raised and deranged liver enzymes.

Within couple of weeks her symptoms improved but her esr was still raised.

Later she been over triple antibiotic therapy.

We suspected infection by Burkholdoria pseudomallei(as he was farmer). But couldn't culture the organism due to lack of suitable media.

Later patient got discharged as her symptoms got improved https://draft.blogger.com/u/1/blog/post/edit/8508218925544198138/7618086111551442589
